Updated at February 20, 2008 14:59Micah Shilcrat was named National Merit Finalist. Micah is now eligible to receive National Merit Scholarships. Scholarship winners will be announced in the spring. Congratulations to Micah!
In addition, three members of the Class of 2008 have been named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for scoring at or above the index score of 200. This represents about the top 4 per cent of scorers on the 2006 PSAT. Congratulations to Hannah Kiem, Jordan Carter, and Micaela Blank!
Jordan Carter has been named National Achievement Semi-Finalist. Jordan was one of approximately 1400 African-American students nationwide to be recognized by the National Merit Corporation for top performance on the 2006 PSAT. He will now advance to Finalist status and become eligible for scholarship consideration.
Finally, the National Achievement Scholarship program has announced that LaKecia Veal is one of the 4600 African-American students who scored in the top 5% on the PSAT last October. Lakecia’s name has been sent to over 1500 colleges, recognizing her potential for academic success in college.
